There is a long list of features, which our clients want to see in addVANTAGE Professional. Quite a significant amount we have just ticked off that list!

Here are the key elements of Pro 5.3:

1) The addTIMER Extension
2) A new Trend Viewer
3) Land line calls through a SIP Gate
4) Start date for extensions
5) Improved log files to support administrators

1) The addTIMER Extension:
This extension lets the user freely define the start time for his irrigation valves (or any other device that needs to be remotely started and stopped, like a pump filling a drinking water reservoir over night when electricity is cheaper) ) and how long they will remain open. The addTIMER is ideally suited to work with the A724 addSWITCH valve controller, but can certainly be used for all other kinds of applications.

- Set up various irrigation shifts, with their start and run time
- add RTU's to shifts
- define irrigation programs to be executed
       - once
       - repeatedly
       - on selected days of the week only
- modify runtimes by using a seasonal "multiplier"
- add single irrigations without altering the shift
- and much more!

2) A new Trend Viewer:
The new trend viewer sports a number of features our customers have asked for:

- open a trend at the last available data set
- automatically set optimum number of grid lines for the selected
   time span
- make thresholds transparent to see trend lines and overlapping
   thresholds
- match the color of the Y-Axis with the color of the tag

3) Land line calls through a SIP Gate:
There are many occasions where a phone call has its merits over an SMS. Very often an SMS goes unnoticed. A land line call in turn keeps the phone ringing until someone picks it up. The user can define his own wave files to be played to the recipient of the call, matching the event triggering the call.

Calling through a SIP provider has a major advantage over modem calls. Through a SIP provider you can send hundreds of calls in a fairly short period of time, while every single modem call would on average take about a minute. Think of frost alarms! You will need to alarm dozens of farmers in a short time. With SIP this is no problem!                                                                          Go to top

4) Start date for extensions:
Previous versions of addVANTAGE used the current date as start date when a client was setting up a disease extension. Now you can set the start time for all extensions by simply editing a universal properties file. If located on the Northern Hemisphere you can thus e.g. set all extensions to start their calculations on January 1, while farmers on the Southern Hemisphere will set it to July 1.

5) Improved log files to support system administrators:
Our new log file system will make it much easier for a system administrator to locate errors, understand where system resources are being used, who is logged on, etc. Just about everything that occurs in your installation will now trigger an entry into a log file.
