New product!
The A512 Watermark Interface is a newly designed amplifier , to which up to three standard Watermark Sensors (Model 200) can be connected.
In contrast to its predecessor an off-the-shelf Watermark sensor can be connected, no specific connectors are needed.
They can individually
be added on and replaced. The A512 Watermark Interface is equipped with three special grommets that hold the bare cables of a standard Watermark sensor. Just feed the cable through the grommet, connect the ends to the internal cage clamps and close the lid - done!
To provide proper mechanical protection and robustness the A512 Watermark Interface comes in a aluminum houses, that makes it virtually indestructible. It's the same case that we use for more than 10 years on our addIT series of RTUs.
The key features at a glance:
- Connect up to three standard Watermark sensors
- Output signal 0 - 2.5V
- Compatible to A720, A723, A732 and A733 RTUs
- Connects to RTU with a 3m cable with IP-67 Binder connector with 7 pins
- Robust aluminum housing

About the Watermark Sensor
This sensor type is well established and accepted for many years. In contrast to Gypsum Blocks it does not dissolve over time, is not affected by freezing temperatures, and can therefore remain in the ground for many years. Install up to three sensors at the same depth to show distribution of water in one layer, or in different depths to show penetration.
How the Watermark works
The patented Watermark sensor consists of two concentric electrodes buried in a special reference matrix material that is held in place by a stainless steel case. The matrix material has been selected to reflect the maximum change of electrical resistance over the growth range of production crops. Soil moisture is constantly being absorbed or released from the sensor. As the soil dries out the sensor moisture is reduced and the electrical resistance between the electrodes is increased. The measured resistance is converted to centibars and gives a readout of soil moisture water suction.
